Biography

Megan D. Krause completed her BFA Honours in Painting at the University of Manitoba in 2011. With an emphasis on the environment and human ecology, her work has gained wide recognition. She has received support from both the Manitoba Arts Council and the Winnipeg Arts Council, including the Deep Bay Artists’ Residency, the Churchill Artists’ Residency, and the inaugural Nellie McClung Arts Legacy Award. Megan teaches painting and drawing at the Community School for Music and the Arts at Canadian Mennonite University. In 2017/18 she served as board chair for Mentoring Artists for Women’s Art (MAWA), an organization that advocates to further the professional development of women, non-binary, trans, and 2-spirit women-identifying people in the arts. In 2025/26, Megan is serving as a mentor in MAWA’s Foundation Mentorship Program.

Megan resides in Winnipeg, Manitoba with her husband Jesse and their two young kids, and together they support each other’s creative endeavors.
